The International Association of Nurse Artists (IANA) started as a grass-roots project in November 2006 by professional artist and nurse, Kathy Iwanowski. The intention of the project was to connect nurses from around the world who use the arts for personal and/or professional purposes as well as those who have an interest in creativity and health. In May 2009, Iwanowski founded Nurse-Artists International, Inc. and in February 2010, the IANA became an official program of the organization. Membership in the International Association of Nurse-Artists is open to nurses only in any artistic medium. It provides a platform for networking, exhibiting/performing, educational, and employment opportunities for an annual fee. To learn more about membership, see the information at right. To learn more about the artist who initiated this project, click on her link at the bottom of the page.
